Sy enjoyed her visit at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, Mich., where she spoke at the Calvin Center for Faith & Writing. Sy loved meeting students and faculty who are deeply committed to preserving God’s handiwork, at a campus where one-third of the land is conserved as a sanctuary for wildlife. She also joined her friends Colin and Jim on their excellent podcast, The Language of God.
On the same trip, Sy joined one-thousand dog lovers in Chicago, where she was the closing keynote speaker at the CANIS conference:
“The CANIS Conference (that’s Canine Advocacy, Networking, Innovation, and Science) is … a celebration of all things dog. …. trainers, behavior consultants, veterinarians, shelter and rescue workers, sport dog handlers, and pet care pros come together to learn, connect, and spark new ideas … CANIS is where science meets passion, innovation sparks ideas, and the future of dog welfare takes center stage.”
She also caught up with superstar trainers Dr. Patricia McConnell and Thurber’s first teacher, Erica Marshall.
